Over the past decade City iCare has developed a strong reputation for delivering an exceptional patient experience. By consistently providing quality eye care and excellent customer service, our patients have come to expect only the very best, and we are thrilled to provide it!
City iCare has realized the importance of staying current with the latest technology in the industry so that our patients receive the very best eye care available. Below you will find a brief description of our diagnostic equipment that is regularly used during the eye health examination. These devices elevate our standard of care, and they take the term “early detection” to another level.
Our Commitment to Technology
Ultra-widefield (UWF™) retinal imaging enables our doctors to diagnose and manage conditions of the retina (the back of the eye), including the difficult to see, peripheral retina. Retinal conditions which can sometimes go undetected using traditional examination techniques and equipment, are now more easily detected. Our UWF, high-resolution retinal imaging device can image more than 80% (or 200˚) of the retina in a single capture. It is also used in the diagnosis and management of many eye conditions including macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal detachment and certain types of cancer.
Our Maestro System delivers a new standard of clinical utility by combining a high resolution color retinal camera with the latest in ultrasound technology (OCT) for imaging the deeper layers of your eye (cornea and retina). There are no X-rays or other harmful radiation used in this process, only common light rays, the same as you would find outside. In a split second, 50,000 scans of your eye are taken, providing detailed measurements and topographical maps of the optic nerve, retina(back of eye) and cornea(front of the eye). This test in used in the diagnosis and management of many retinal and corneal conditions, as well as in the fitting process for specialty contact lenses.
