Born and raised in Ottawa, Dr. Nisha Ferenac currently resides in Burlington. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Waterloo, she completed her degree in Optometry at the University of Manchester.
Following graduation, she gained extensive clinical experience in ocular pathologies and treatments by volunteering in various communities across Central America for a year. Upon her return to Canada, she worked at McMaster Children’s Hospital, helping establish protocols for the EYE-MAC project, resulting in a publication in the BMC Medical Educational Journal. Dr. Ferenac is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Ontario College of Optometrists, and is licensed to prescribe topical and oral therapeutics for the treatment of ocular conditions. In her spare time she is an avid football fan, enjoys skiing, and spending time in her vegetable garden, cooking and traveling with her husband.
